Sweet little Kiko has been through a lot, and is ready to find the loving home he so deserves. As you can see from the photos, Kiko came to HOPE with a large cut around most of his neck. The vet determined that someone probably cut Kiko. He also has a slight limp, the cause of which has not been able to be determined. Kiko’s wound is healing beautifully; now he just needs a home to call his own. Kiko is loving and resilient; despite what he has been though, he still thinks people are pretty great. Meet Felix, an adorable little fellow who is about 10 months old. Though young, he has been through quite a bit in his short life. When he arrived at HOPE we discovered that he had three broken legs; because of his young age, the two front legs had healed on their own. He has since had surgery on the hind leg that was broken, and is recovering beautifully. The vet who did the surgery believes he was probably hit by a car. He needs a home where he can get a little extra TLC. If there are other dogs he will need to be kept in a crate while he heals, and needs slow paced 10-15 minute walks several times a day. If there are no other dogs he can roam the house. HOPE will pay for the follow up vet visits related to his injuries. Felix is a wonderful boy, very loving, affectionate, and devoted. He will truly make a wonderful companion for the person or family that can give him the loving home he seeks.

Meet Evie, a sweet girl who has been through some difficult times. Evie was tied to fence outside of the shelter during the night. When we tried to get her the next day, she slipped out of her collar and wouldn’t let anyone come near her. She waited patiently for days by the fence, trusting that her owner was coming back for her. When we finally caught her she was scared and appeared unfriendly; we soon realized that her responses were based on her fear and that actually she is a very playful, friendly, affectionate young dog. She is leery of people when she is in a kennel; when she knows you she couldn’t be a nicer pup. Clearly she is also a very devoted girl, as evidenced by the way she waited for whoever abandoned her to come back. This very sweet and friendly girl is Emma. She has quite a sad story to tell, and hopes someone reading this will find it in their hearts to offer her the safe and loving home she needs and deserves. You will notice that one of her pictures is a photo of an x-ray. Multiple x-rays show all of the bb’s in Emma’s body (and one in her head), left behind by someone who shot this poor cat repeatedly. She was adopted once and given up again when her adoptive family found out about the bb’s. We don’t want her to ever have to go through that again. Her forever family needs to understand that it is possible she could have problems in the future because of the bb’s; it’s impossible to know at this point if that will happen. Emma is a very affectionate cat who is not letting the cruelty of some people break her spirit.

Carly is a beautiful, sleek girl. She can be a bit shy at first and needs some time to warm up, but can be very affectionate. This stately senior is Princess. She came to HOPE with her companion Prince when their owner went into an assisted living facility. While they don’t have to stay together, it would be nice if these two declawed companions could. Princess is about 14 years old, and is a very friendly cat. As you can probably tell from the photo, this adorable fellow has some challenges. Dustin has a skin condition and no teeth for reasons that are still undetermined. He also has tick fever. Dustin can’t get neutered until his health improves. Dustin also has an enormous heart and if he could wrap his legs all the way around you to hug you he would. Dustin needs to go to a home where his many unique needs can be met; if you can provide him with all of the TLC he needs, he will reward you with loving devotion. This happened after Katie had been at the shelter for a very long time; while we are not completely sure of the cause and possible long term effects, she seems to be doing ok. Hector has had a bit of a rough road and needs to find the right home that can appreciate him for who he is. Like all declawed cats he can be a bit tempermental. He is starting to trust the people at HOPE and will allow us to pick him up. He will let you know when he’s had enough and he needs to be in a home where that is respected. Jade is a beautiful, feisty girl. She prefers the company of male cats, and is not the most gentle cat when it comes to play. She loves water–one of her favorite things is a water running in the sink. She doesn’t mind getting wet; in fact, she enjoys it! She would love it if you would turn the water on an play with her. Jade has her microchip, and is awaiting the perfect forever home.

Gargamel is a handsome gentleman, about 9 years old. He came to Benarda Veterinary Hospital with his sister Raju when they were kittens. If you’ve been there, you have probably met them. He and Raju must stay together, and they are not interested in being in a home with other cats (although they do like dogs). He is very sweet, and likes to give gentle bites when he plays. Garagmel needs daily eye/nose drops, and has chronic Upper Respiratory Infections (URI).
Sweet Libby is a beautiful young lady, about a year old. Like her sister, Lucy, Libby likes other cats. She is still learning to like people; although she is very shy and can be nervous, once she knows you she is a sweetheart. Do you have a peaceful home for Lucy to feel secure in? She is FELV+.

Miss Zelda is a lovely kitty who desperately needs a forever home. She has been at HOPE for way too long. She was handed to us outside a library with her litter of kittens. Of course, all her babies were adopted but Zelda is still with us. We cannot understand why. She’s a sweet, loving cat. She gets along with other cats and would probably tolerate dogs. Zelda has put on a few pounds during her stay with us…but that just gives you more to love.
Valerie is a beautiful young cat. She is sweet, but can be very shy. She absolutely loves her feline friend Grant. We would love to find a home for them together; if you are interested in adopting them as a pair, they can come together for only one adoption fee. We know she would find it easier to be in her new home if she had someone with her who helps her feel safe.
This lovely lady is Vanessa. She was a dirty, pitiful girl when she came to HOPE, but as you can tell now is looking just great. She is a very sweet and companionable cat; she likes to situate herself near people whenever possible-be careful you don’t back up into her when she joins you at the sink! Vanessa would love to find a home filled with love and affection.
This beautiful girl is Bonnie. She will do best in a home with other cats, as she becomes very attached to her feline companions-she can often be found curled up with another cat in a basket or bed. Bonnie would love a quiet home where she can show off how sweet and affectionate she can be. Oh, by the way…Bonnie has the best curled tail of any cat!!!
