Thanks. He’s such a good boy. So sweet and mellow and adaptable to his new living situation. I was looking for a long time for a companion for my other dog and he’s perfect. When they play they play like idiots and wear each other out.

I just wanted to let you know that Lolita and I are doing fine. It has been a real experience with her. We did ok the first month, until I had to take her to the Vet. That was traumatic for her…being put in a carrier…she was hard to corner! Everything checked out fine at the vet. When we got back home, she ran & hid under furniture, only coming out at night to eat when I was asleep or when I was at work during the day. I would get down on the floor & talk to her under the chair, my nightstand etc. This continued up until about a month ago. I had downloaded some meowing cats and kittens ringtones on my phone, & was playing them one afternoon and she really started meowing. After that she made herself visible after I had gotten into bed & before I turned my light off. We started playing with one of those red laser light toys and she loves it. This has become a nightly ritual. She has gotten ‘braver’ and ‘braver’ about getting closer to me. Then this past weekend she came close enough that I could reach out and pet her, & of course she loved that. My heart melted & I’m calling this my little Christmas miracle. She stays hidden during the day or whenever I’m up & doing things around the house, but my hope is that she will get more & more comfortable. She doesn’t like tv, and wasn’t fond of the men who have been here to do termite inspection, house repairs etc.

There hasn’t been much news to update you with until now, and I am very, very happy she is finally breaking through.

Kiko-Adopted

Sweet little Kiko has been through a lot, and is ready to find the loving home he so deserves. As you can see from the photos, Kiko came to HOPE with a large cut around most of his neck. The vet determined that someone probably cut Kiko. He also has a slight limp, the cause of which has not been able to be determined. Kiko’s wound is healing beautifully; now he just needs a home to call his own. Kiko is loving and resilient; despite what he has been though, he still thinks people are pretty great. If you can offer Kiko the kind, safe, and love-filled home he desires, please come and meet this wonderful fellow.

Batty is an adorable little Chi mix, very friendly and affectionate. He adores people, and gets along well with other dogs. He loves playing with his canine companions; he seems to be fine with cats as well. Batty has had a tough time finding his forever home, and it’s hard to understand why…he’s such a sweet little pup. Felix-Adopted

Meet Felix, an adorable little fellow who is about 10 months old. Though young, he has been through quite a bit in his short life. When he arrived at HOPE we discovered that he had three broken legs; because of his young age, the two front legs had healed on their own. He has since had surgery on the hind leg that was broken, and is recovering beautifully. The vet who did the surgery believes he was probably hit by a car. He needs a home where he can get a little extra TLC. If there are other dogs he will need to be kept in a crate while he heals, and needs slow paced 10-15 minute walks several times a day. If there are no other dogs he can roam the house. HOPE will pay for the follow up vet visits related to his injuries. Felix is a wonderful boy, very loving, affectionate, and devoted. He will truly make a wonderful companion for the person or family that can give him the loving home he seeks.
